Old blues men never die...

So what have we here? A private collection of blues reviews, notes, half baked songs and whatnot? Yep, all of the above and maybe a little more.

Mostly it is about keeping track of things for myself. I read a lot. I listen to a lot of music, mostly blues as you can imagine. But my interests do not stop there. Acoustic folk rock, bluegrass, newgrass, jazz and some others can be found on my playlist from time to time. What you won't find is rap, hip hop, or anything that remotely resembles it.

Who am I? Just another guitar picker. I have spent a considerable number of years playing, drifting in and out of the blues. My first serious blues exposure came at 14, when into my universe came Cream, the British blues/rock group that catapulted Clapton to new heights. Then at 18, I met Zeke Simpson. Zeke introduced me to the likes of Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Mayall, Peter Green, Shuggie Otis and all the other usual suspects of the genre as we cruised St. Pete in his VW bus. Somehow the blues found a home in me and hasn't left, despite my musical wanderings. Zeke also taught me to play the blues, simple in its basic forms, but capable of so much. I still have much to learn when it comes to pickin the blues. Zeke passed on in the nineties, but his musical influence remains as strong as ever. Blessings to his family.

So tune in from time to time and you just might come across something interesting. Leave me a comment to let me know you were here, but be nice. Otherwise, I will just delete it anyway!
